About Me? That is probably one of the most difficult questions for me to answer. The reason? I am so off the map as far as my likes and dislikes, and most of my likes I am pretty embarrassed to admit. So I will start this and we will see how it goes.
My name is Julianne and I have now spent the majority of my life living in Georgia. Georgia is home and where I love most. We bought our first house almost 2 years ago (can't believe it has been that long!), and we are still in the process of working on it and fixing it up. We love having our own space, especially our own yard. This year will be our third summer having a garden, which we love! Although I love the summer, my favorite time of year is either spring or fall. Both are so beautiful, but in completely different ways. I also love winter... well, mostly because we tend to eat the tastiest food in the winter. :)
I am a complete foodie! My sisters and I grew up in the kitchen with our mom. That is one of her legacies that she has left with her three girls for sure! My oldest sister was always the planner or the dreamer of sorts. She would always come up with fancy dinner ideas and fancy ways to cook things. She and I would go to town at the stove together. My middle sister has always been the baker. I wish I could bake half as good as what she can! All that to say, I love food! I also LOVE to cook, but I have found out recently that cooking during your spare time is way better than cooking on a schedule. That is what married life will do to you, I guess.
I have been with my husband for almost 10 years (okay so almost 9 years, but it is way cooler to say 10!) and a day does not go by where I do not fall more and more in love with him. We are soul mates. Period.
We have a puppy named Sadie, and she is a stinker! She is so cute, even when she pees on the floor (it's totally not fair, right?) We love her to death. She is my little partner in crime and my shadow.
I love to do crafts, however, I am not good at doing crafts. It's not because I am not crafty, but more because I would rather have human interaction. I love being around people, and my crafty self suffers because of it. I wish I liked being alone, but usually I am just bored and I don't like being bored.
I am a nurse and have been for almost 3 years. I spend my first 2 years of nursing on night shift. You could not pay me enough to go back to that life. I am loving my career as a day shift nurse and hope to go back to school in the fall to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.
I love music! Music is always on in my house, especially when I am home alone. At any point of my life you could probably find me in my house "cleaning" to blaring music, but mostly just dancing around the house. :) My music tastes vary from show music to pop to country to hip hop to kid's music (yep, embarrassing) to folk music to whatever else. I am pretty moody about music. If I am cleaning I want something upbeat to keep me going (or dancing), but if I am just hanging out with my husband we listen to pretty chill music. Anyway, I am pretty diverse in my music tastes.
I am pretty boring when it comes to movies. I have a certain selection of movies that I watch over and over instead of always trying something new. I know this is weird, but I have always been like this and I can't help it! Who wants to chance watching a crappy movie when you know which movies are great?! Anyways, that is just me. Favorites include: Little Women, A Little Princess, Moulin Rouge, any Harry Potter movie, any Lord of the Rings movie (but the 2nd one is my favorite), any Narnia movie, any Disney movie, and beyond that I would have to go look at my movie collection. Yep, let the judgment begin... I know... I am weird.
I also love to read. I don't read as often as I would like, but I would think most people would say that. Favorite books? Harry Potter series, Gemma Doyle trilogy (including A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, and The Sweet Far Thing), the Lineage of Grace series by Francine Rivers, Redeeming Love, Little Women, and the Bible. Anything besides that I would have to go look at my collection.
My husband and I want to make a difference in this world. We hope to leave some kind of legacy, changing few lives greatly, instead of making a small difference to a lot of people. We do not have any kids yet, but we hope to naturally have a few, but also adopt a few. We are passionate about having messy, good life. If life isn't messy, it probably doesn't involve a lot of people because people are messy. We love Jesus and want to make an impact for Him, because of the impact He has made on us (complete understatement there). We hope that it is in the play book for us to one day live overseas and make a difference there. We are thinking of ideas for "the company" (as we fondly call it, like on Heroes if you have seen it). How we can make a difference, but not rely on the support of others. I hope to use the skills of a Nurse Practitioner to really make a difference in the healthcare overseas that is less than satisfactory.
Anyways, that is just a blurb on me. :)
