Not Guilty

I am just going to go ahead and get it over and disappoint you. Just so you know, now that the floors are done, I will not be posting pictures for awhile. Let me explain why....

Now that the floors are done, I have to clean my house. Cleaning? How hard is that? But what if parts of your house hadn't been cleaned in... 9 months? Would you want to show pictures? I mean, just sayin'. And to add on top of that, we have been using power tools and all kinds of things in the house that make a lot of mess. It is overwhelming the amount of work ahead of me. I hope that I make it through.

So now that you are grossed out and picturing the piles of dust around my house, I am guilt free of feeling like you are anxiously awaiting reveal pictures of the floor. And don't worry, I do not think you are refreshing this page waiting for anything, but just in case you are that crazy, you have been warned.

I won't be posting for awhile either unless I am procrastinating the cleaning process, which is not impossible for me to do :).

Also, you are more than welcome to come help me clean this pigsty!!

Have a good week!

New Project

As you can probably tell from this blog, I love projects. You would never guess that considering that almost everyday since Thanksgiving, I have complained about our house being a wreck (yes people, we are STILL installing our laminate flooring, but I am pleased to say that the floor part is complete - we just don't have any baseboards). So anyways, I wanted to show you my next project. With the help of a few experts (my mom and sister), I plan to re-do/finish this set of table and chairs that I bought from "the junk man" as I lovingly call him.

I plan on stripping the top of the table and the seats of the chairs and staining them a dark ebony and then painting the rest of the table and chairs with Annie Sloan chalk paint. I am so anxious to try out this paint. I found it so many months ago, but I have been too chicken to actually splurge on it myself.

Hope you are excited to see how it turns out because I TOTALLY am!

P.S. I am blogging from a campsite in my tent in Kentucky. Craziness, right?!

Home on the Range

Another event that kept us busy in the month of May was our trip to my husbands roots - Nebraska, home of the Cornhuskers! We had such a blast! I had never been out West much, but I hope to explore it more someday soon. It is SO beautiful out there! Most people that I told that we went to Nebraska were pretty snooty about it. "Why would you ever want to go there," they said, "isn't it just flat?". I have seen it and it is not just flat, my friends. It is basically a vast expanse of the earth that can be seen in every direction. Rolling hills, swaying grass, no trees to block the horizon or the land. Just perfect.

Any who, we had a blast. We went four wheeling, shooting, prairie dog hunting, hiking on the bluffs, ate delicious food, saw family, and so much more. Here are a few photos from the trip....

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend! :)

May Showers Bring May Babies!

Okay, so I apologize for all the silence around here... not that anybody is constantly checking this blog to see if something is posted. The month of May was absolutely INSANE. You should have seen my house... it was scary! Events happened one right after the other. I had pretty much no time at home. At one point my husband even apologized because of all the laundry that had piled up.

So anyways....

One of the main events in the month of May was a certain baby shower that I hosted for my oldest sister, Lauren. It turned out wonderfully! The best part is that baby Ethan is HERE! He was born May 31st at 3:11am.

I figured since Ethan is now in the real world I should share some pictures from his shower! :)

Disclaimer: when it comes to anything, food is the number one priority. Therefore, don't be stunned when I show you a bunch of pictures of just food!
(if you are surprised... look at the title of the blog you are reading, huh!)
